During the course, students are acquainted with engineering application aspects of the mechanics of solid bodies, which represents itself in finished structural load-bearing elements. They become familiar with the basics that determine the response of individual types of construction elements under the influence of mechanic and temperature stress. Next, they also acquire an overview of possible methods for solving such problems. By means of analytically manageable problems, they acquire more detailed knowledge and background for the understanding of more complex problems of engineering mechanics. The acquired knowledge about mechanical behaviour of construction elements provides the student with the ability to design structures and installations professionally and responsibly.
