The work studies vibrations of suction unit's cover and its relation with generated structural noise. Existing suction unit's cover is designed only considering geometrical requirements. Results of experimental modal analysis of cover's vibrations and local structural noise and cover's numerical modal analysis tent to suggestion of cover's new shape. New measuring method of local structural noise is introduced.
