DEVELOPMENT AND MANUFACTURING OF STRICTLY ORIENTED CUTTING TOOLS, COATINGS AND ASSOCIATED MACHINING TECHNOLOGIES FOR INDIVIDUAL TOOL INDUSTRY

Department for Management of Production Technologies from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana in collaboration with Institute »Jožef Štefan« and EMO-Orodjarna develops special ball end mills for machining tool steel in the soft state. The study is based on the optimization of:

• cutting tool material,
• cutting edge radius,
• cutting tools rake angle,
• the use of different coatings.
